Water Bearer Relief Fountain Panel

A robed figure in a laurel crown tips an amphora across the face of this slab, and the spout is drilled straight through the mouth of the jar, so the fountain does exactly what the carving says it is doing. The drapery is cut in long soft folds that read from across a garden, while the ground around the figure has taken on a green lichen cast that no workshop could imitate.
