Estate Wall Fountain Set into a Stone Terrace

This is the only fountain in the archive photographed where it now lives, and it answers the question everyone asks. Set into a coursed limestone retaining wall between twin staircases, it holds the centre of a whole pool terrace without ever raising its voice, and the water carries down through the spa to the pool below. The arched crest with its scrolled shoulders reads clearly from the far side of the water, which is the real test of scale.
